The Plague

Following their joyous birthday celebration, it hit us.  It came without warning.  Silently.  Slowly.  Sickness.  It started as colds and sore throats.  We went to the doctor.  We were told the babes had viruses and to let it play out.  The girls just whined and cried all day and wanted to be held non-stop (I didn't mind the holding and laying as much :)).  It was so sad.  We went back to the doctor.  Double ear infections and double pink eye.  Here is what Clarabelle looked like with what I now refer to as 'The Plague.'  This lasted for THREE WEEKS.  Three.
Have you ever seen a baby look this sad?
Here's a reminder of what she normally looks like:

Two Little Candles, Two Little Cakes

Two little birthdays to celebrate!

It was the Big One.  Milly and Clarabelle turned a whole year old on April 12.  To be honest, I felt like it was a big accomplishment for us as parents!  We made it a whole year.  That sounds a little pathetic but there were a couple times when I wasn't quite sure how we would make it!  They are precious babies and incredibly sweet (just like the cake they devoured) but this hasn't been the easiest year I've ever experienced, but it has been the most life changing, rewarding and moving year.  When I look at them I still can't quite comprehend that they are my little girls, it's something you think about your whole life.  Grow up, get married, have babies.  I'm here and it's surreal.  What a miracle it is for babies to be formed and grow and be born.  They are my daily reminder now of the amazing things God creates and that nothing is too small for Him.  So, of course we made it through this first year, we had Help.  I'm so thankful that I've been blessed with these two miracles and get to watch them continue to grow.

their outfits have an ice cream cone with 'two scoops'  Hehe.  It didn't occur to me until I saw the pictures
