Moving Announcement + Outakes

When deciding on a moving announcement it was all too clear to me what had to happen.  The babies had to go in moving boxes.  One morning Ryan asked, "what are you guys going to do today?"  To which I replied, "well, I'm going to put the girls in boxes, outside, and take pictures."  Of course Ry followed that up with, "are you serious?"  Tisk, tisk Ryan, "Have you ever known me to joke about these sorts of things?"  Right.  It went a little easier in my mind than in reality (and in my mind the girls smiled their giant smiles the whole time).  Ha!  But here is the picture we used:
With the caption "We've (Almost) Finished Unpacking"

Here are the umm, outakes:
The boxes were novel at first.

Then we learned we could tip them over.

And spotted some birds.

And Clarabelle didn't want to look at the camera.

And Milly kept running away.

But we both liked climbing in them

BUTT that kind of went against my plan for getting a cute pic of their faces.

However, when they did show their faces, they were pretty great.  Do you see CB's face here?

Let's zoom in a little.

And M's mischievious look here?

There it is.

All-in-all it went well.  Milly even gave herself a round of applause.

Happy (Belated) Father's Day

I love distinct twin moments.  There are certain times when I feel extra blessed because I know these are things I will only see once and they feel very special and rare.  One of these happened on Father's Day morning.  We went in to wake up the girls (early because we were making a valiant effort to get there on time to check the girls into the nursery and not rush into the sanctuary) and they were both sleeping in exactly the same positions.  In the corners of their cribs with their tiny feet crossed, heads turned out and arms tucked they slept in sweet mirroring silence.  We even got to turn on the light and snap a few pictures before they woke up.

Happy (Belated) Father's Day to a wonderful Daddy.  The girls love their 'Gaga' so much.  They talk about him all day!  I'm so thankful that I have a husband who enjoys spending time with our babies so much.  He sacrifices other activities (happily) so that he can come home from long days at work and play with them.  They are Daddy's girls :)

Milly and Clarabelle, I miss my own Daddy.  I wish you got to meet Papa Big John.  He would have been so proud of his little twin girls.  He would have loved giving you horsey rides and doing the Yiker.  I'm sad you'll never get to ride in his big sod truck and go lay 'cheesecake' like I did but I'll be sure to tell you about him because I never got to meet my Mom's daddy either and I hear he was pretty great, I even feel like I kind of knew him.

Ram the Gate!

Clarabelle, I have an idea but I need your help.  The only thing separating us from the glorious summit at the top of the stairs, is this plastic fortress.  With our trusty, pink Cozy Coupe we can conquer the great beyond.  I'll steer and you push!

Gee, Milly, I don't know.  This plastic fortress is pretty tall and sturdy!

Clarabelle, I'm already ready.  Now just give me a push!

Okay, but I will need this Nutri Grain bar to give me strength.  FULL SPEED AHEAD!

Milly, it's no use, this Nutri Grain bar doesn't have the power I need to push through.

Step aside, Clarabelle, I'll push and you can steer.

Heave Ho!

Alas, today is not the day that the wall comes down.  We will rally and try again tomorrow!

(Edible) Finger Painting

I've been wanting to do a little art project with the girlies but am well aware that they like to, ahem, sample art supplies.  So, after a little Pinteresting I found a recipe for edible finger paints.  Perfect!  Flour, sugar, water, food coloring.  Glad I did.  I'd say 85% of the paint went in their mouths.  Below are the telltale signs.  There's no ignoring the evidence!
Milly, stopping to observe the birds

PS-I rolled their high chairs outside for the project and undressed them.  Very thankful I did.

Easter Bunnies (Because I didn't post this back in April)

Random Fact: Pottery Barn Kids can't monogram 10 letters, so Clarabelle can never have any of their cute little things (like their adorable Easter baskets) monogrammed.  Sigh.  I found these little baskets in the $2.50 section of target and monogrammed them myself.  Not bad.  Now.  Only if I had paid one bit of attention to what name was on what basket I would have put them in front of the corresponding baby.  Alas, I did not. Here are our Easter Bunnies.
